Službenu internetsku stranicu UNESCO-a, odnosno njegovu naslovnicu danas od 16 sati krasi fotografija imotskog Modrog jezero.
Velika je to stvar, ogromna reklama za Imotski, Park prirode Biokovo i Hrvatsku. Naime, izvršni odbor te specijalizirane organizacije Ujedinjenih naroda prihvatio je u srijedu pod svoje okrilje Geopark Biokovo - Imotska jezera.
Izvršni odbor UNESCO-a, na svojoj sjednici koja se održavala od 13. do 27. ožujka 2024., proglasio Geopark Biokovo-Imotska jezera UNESCO svjetskim Geoparkom.
Gotova priča
- Ovom odlukom Izvršnog odbora UNESCO-a zaokružena je priča koja je započela još 2019. godine kada je utemeljen Geopark Biokovo-Imotska jezera, a koji će sada ponosno nositi i isticati prestižno ime UNESCO Global Geopark, izjavila je Ivana Ćapin, izvršna direktorica Geoparka Biokovo – Imotska jezera.

UNESCO Geoparkovi su jedinstvena geografska područja međunarodnog geološkog značaja kojima se upravlja holističkim konceptom zaštite, obrazovanja i održivog razvoja.
Podizanjem svijesti i edukacijom o važnosti geološke baštine geoparkovi UNESCO-a lokalnoj zajednici daju osjećaj ponosa i jačaju njihovu identifikaciju s područjem na kojem žive. Geološka baština povezana sa prirodnom i kulturnom baštinom unapređuje održivo korištenje resursa, ublažava učinke klimatskih promjena te smanjuje rizike povezane s prirodnim katastrofama.

UNESCO Geoparkovi svojim aktivnostima privlače veći broj posjetitelja i omogućuju pokretanje različitih proizvodnih i uslužnih djelatnosti koji doprinose socio-ekonomskom razvoju zajednice. Geoparkovima doprinose ne samo geološki zanimljiva mjesta, već i razne druge ekološke, arheološke, povijesne i kulturne znamenitosti, te ih podupiru i u njima aktivno sudjeluju lokalne zajednice koje znaju prepoznati i žele afirmirati svoje geološko,povijesno i kulturno naslijeđe, ponajviše kroz ideju geoturizma.Geopark Biokovo-Imotska jezera je sada u krugu od 213 Geoparkova u svijetu iz 48 država, te treći UNESCO Geopark u Hrvatskoj.
Razvoj turizma
Ovim prijemom pod okrilje UNESCO-a Geopark Biokovo-Imotska jezera otvara široke i nesagledive vidike ne samo razvoju turizma, već općenito gospodarskom razvoju prostora u kojem se sam Geopark nalazi.
Sada će zapravo zaštitni znakovi Imotskog Modro i Crveno jezero, predivna Dva oka, jedno od izvorišta rijeke Vrljike, potom sama rijeka Vrljika, Prološko blato, fascinantna Lokvičićka jezera, planina Biokovo, čovječa ribica, gornji kanjon Badnjevice, Ričica..., biti itekako pod povećalom stotine tisuća ljubitelja prirode iz cijeloga svijeta tijekom cijele godine koji obilaze UNESCO Geo parkove diljem svijeta.

Službenu internetsku stranicu UNESCO-a, odnosno njegovu naslovnicu danas od 16 sati krasi fotografija imotskog Modrog jezero.
Velika je to stvar, ogromna reklama za Imotski, Park prirode Biokovo i Hrvatsku. Naime, izvršni odbor te specijalizirane organizacije Ujedinjenih naroda prihvatio je u srijedu pod svoje okrilje Geopark Biokovo - Imotska jezera.
Izvršni odbor UNESCO-a, na svojoj sjednici koja se održavala od 13. do 27. ožujka 2024., proglasio Geopark Biokovo-Imotska jezera UNESCO svjetskim Geoparkom.
Gotova priča
- Ovom odlukom Izvršnog odbora UNESCO-a zaokružena je priča koja je započela još 2019. godine kada je utemeljen Geopark Biokovo-Imotska jezera, a koji će sada ponosno nositi i isticati prestižno ime UNESCO Global Geopark, izjavila je Ivana Ćapin, izvršna direktorica Geoparka Biokovo – Imotska jezera.

UNESCO Geoparkovi su jedinstvena geografska područja međunarodnog geološkog značaja kojima se upravlja holističkim konceptom zaštite, obrazovanja i održivog razvoja.
Podizanjem svijesti i edukacijom o važnosti geološke baštine geoparkovi UNESCO-a lokalnoj zajednici daju osjećaj ponosa i jačaju njihovu identifikaciju s područjem na kojem žive. UNESCO Geoparkovi svojim aktivnostima privlače veći broj posjetitelja i omogućuju pokretanje različitih proizvodnih i uslužnih djelatnosti koji doprinose socio-ekonomskom razvoju zajednice. Geoparkovima doprinose ne samo geološki zanimljiva mjesta, već i razne druge ekološke, arheološke, povijesne i kulturne znamenitosti, te ih podupiru i u njima aktivno sudjeluju lokalne zajednice koje znaju prepoznati i žele afirmirati svoje geološko,povijesno i kulturno naslijeđe, ponajviše kroz ideju geoturizma.Geopark Biokovo-Imotska jezera je sada u krugu od 213 Geoparkova u svijetu iz 48 država, te treći UNESCO Geopark u Hrvatskoj.
Razvoj turizma
Ovim prijemom pod okrilje UNESCO-a Geopark Biokovo-Imotska jezera otvara široke i nesagledive vidike ne samo razvoju turizma, već općenito gospodarskom razvoju prostora u kojem se sam Geopark nalazi.
Sada će zapravo zaštitni znakovi Imotskog Modro i Crveno jezero, predivna Dva oka, jedno od izvorišta rijeke Vrljike, potom sama rijeka Vrljika, Prološko blato, fascinantna Lokvičićka jezera, planina Biokovo, čovječa ribica, gornji kanjon Badnjevice, Ričica..., biti itekako pod povećalom stotine tisuća ljubitelja prirode iz cijeloga svijeta tijekom cijele godine koji obilaze UNESCO Geo parkove diljem svijeta.
